Skin Peels
Skin peels are often used to rejuvenate and tighten skin, treat sun damage, reduce lines and wrinkles and deal with abnormal pigmentation problems. They are also a very powerful treatment for acne. No anaesthetic or downtime is required. A course of peels can be repeated every 6-12 months to keep your skin in good condition and to protect against skin ageing.
What is a skin peel?
A skin peel is the application of an exfoliant solution to the skin which causes it to peel off. The new, regenerated, skin is smoother and less wrinkled than the old skin. It is a technique that has been used for the last 50 years to improve the appearance of the skin. Skins peels are an effective way of reversing sun damage treating acne reducing fine lines and wrinkles and repairing other types of skin damage.
What areas can it be used to treat?
Skin peels are typically performed on the face, neck or hands. It is often used to treat fine lines under the eyes and around the mouth. Wrinkles caused by sun damage, ageing and hereditary factors can often be reduced or even eliminated with this procedure.
Mild scarring and certain types of acne can be treated with skin peels. In addition it can be used to treat pigmentation of the skin in the form of sun spots, age spots, liver spots and freckles. Skin that is dull in texture and colour may be improved with skin peeling.
Severe wrinkles, sags, and bulges, do not respond well to peeling and may require other kinds of cosmetic procedures such as Botox or Dermal Filler treatment.
Treatment
A skin peel can be performed in a beauty salon or in your own home. During the initial consultation the client would be advised to prepare their skin two weeks prior to your peel to maximize its benefits. The pre-treatment creams form part of the skin peel treatment package and are provided.
At the time of skin peel treatment, the skin is thoroughly cleansed with an agent that removes excess oils, and the eyes and hair are protected.
The procedure is fast and convenient, taking only about half an hour. There is no significant discomfort and no anesthetic is needed. With virtually no recovery time, clients can be back to their normal routine straight away.
Following the treatment, the practitioner will provide the client with post treatment creams to use to maximize the benefits of the skin peel.

There are 3 type of skin peel available: Glycolic peel, ICP peel and TCA peel.
